What to Expect

At Strengthening Your Health, Naturally your naturopath Candace will sit together with you to discuss your medical condition. She will make an informed diagnosis by taking a comprehensive history of your health, performing appropriate physical examinations and by prescribing the required laboratory testing.

Physical Examination

Physical examinations that Candace may perform include blood pressure, listening to the heart and/or lungs, looking in the ears and mouth and performing abdominal and/or muscular skeletal exams. Iridology is also a diagnostic technique performed by trained Naturopaths. Iridology is an examination of the iris. This diagnostic technique may enable Candace to determine which treatments may work better for you.

Following Candace's diagnosis, she may prescribe herbal, nutritional, homeopathic and/or flower essence remedies, or make up a medicated cream for your skin or circulatory disorders. Remedies are tailor-made to you, your specific condition, your taste and your financial ability. Therefore if there is a particular preference for liquid, tablet or powdered form of medicines, Candace will do her utmost to meet your requests.

What do I need to bring?

To ensure a thoroughly informed diagnostic assessment is performed, it is important to be aware of all of your medications (prescribed, over the counter, herbal and nutritional preparations) you may have self prescribed or have been prescribed by another health care professional, This is as certain medicines may interact with natural remedies. To make it easier for you, please bring with you all medications you are currently taking, so that Candace is aware of both what you are taking and at what dosage. Also if you have recently (within the previous 3 months) have had a blood test, scan and/or x-ray, ask your doctor for a copy of the results and bring them with you to your consultation.
